Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before renting a vehicle from MAHD Car Rental. By completing a booking, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Rental Eligibility

To rent a vehicle from MAHD Car Rental, the following requirements must be met:

  • Minimum driver age: 18 years
  • Maximum driver age: 75 years
  • Drivers aged 18–24 or 61–75 may be subject to an additional driver fee
  • A valid driver's license with at least 1 year of driving experience is required
  • International Driving Permit (IDP) is required if the license is not in English or Arabic
  • Valid Passport (for tourists) or National ID (for residents) must be presented

MAHD Car Rental reserves the right to refuse rental to any person who does not meet eligibility requirements.

Rental Period and Vehicle Use

Vehicles must be returned:

  • On or before the agreed return date and time
  • In the same condition as received
  • With the same fuel level (Same-to-Same fuel policy)

Late returns may result in additional daily rental charges.

Vehicles must NOT be used for:

  • Illegal or unlawful activities
  • Racing or off-road driving
  • Commercial passenger or goods transport without authorization
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Driving outside Oman without written approval

Violation of these rules may result in termination of the rental agreement and full liability for damages.

Payment and Charges

Accepted payment methods:

All payment cards must be in the name of the primary driver.

Additional charges may apply for:

  • Late returns
  • Traffic violations
  • Damage or loss
  • Cleaning or detailing
  • Unauthorized use of the vehicle

Fuel Policy

Same-to-Same Fuel Policy

We operate a Same-to-Same Fuel Policy across all our vehicles.

  • Vehicle is provided with a specified fuel level
  • Vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level
  • Refueling charges apply if returned with less fuel
  • No refund for excess fuel

Responsibility for Damage or Loss

The renter is responsible for:

  • Damage not covered by insurance
  • Repair costs
  • Towing and administrative fees
  • Loss of vehicle use

⚠️ Police Report Required

A police report is mandatory in case of an accident. Failure to provide a police report may result in full liability.

Geographic Restrictions

Within the Sultanate of Oman

Travel to the UAE requires:

  • Prior written approval
  • Additional insurance
  • Additional charges

Unauthorized cross-border travel is strictly prohibited.

Insurance Coverage

All rentals include the following insurance coverage:

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

Provides protection against vehicle damage, subject to applicable deductible (excess) and compliance with rental terms.

Third Party Liability (TPL)

Coverage for liability for third-party damage or injury. Maximum coverage limit: OMR 15,000.

Theft Protection (TP)

Protection against vehicle theft, subject to deductible.

Insurance coverage becomes invalid if:

  • Traffic laws are violated
  • Vehicle is misused
  • Unauthorized driver operates the vehicle
  • Driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Vehicle is used outside permitted geographic areas

Driver Responsibility

The renter remains responsible for:

  • Insurance deductible (excess)
  • Damage caused by negligence
  • Damage not covered under insurance

Cancellation Policy

✓ Free Cancellation

Cancellation made more than 48 hours before rental start time.

⚠ Late Cancellation

Cancellation made less than 48 hours before rental start time may incur charges.

No-Show Policy

A booking will be considered a No-Show if:

  • The customer fails to collect the vehicle
  • No prior cancellation notice is provided

Charges may apply in such cases.

Refund Processing

Refunds (if applicable) will be processed:

  • After deducting applicable charges
  • According to banking processing times
