Rent a Car in Salalah
Explore Dhofar on Your Own Terms
Self-drive car rental in Salalah with airport Meet & Greet, flexible rental periods, and clear pricing.
Salalah rewards anyone with a car. The beaches, wadis and mountains of Dhofar are spread across a wide coastal plain, and the distances between them are comfortable to drive but awkward without your own vehicle. MAHD Car Rental operates a branch in Salalah and a Meet & Greet service at Salalah Airport, so you can collect your car minutes after landing and start driving. Book a compact car for the city, a sedan for longer coastal runs, or an SUV when you are travelling with family and luggage. Rates are shown in full before you confirm, with no charges added at the counter.

Why a Car Makes Sense in Salalah
Almost everything visitors come to Dhofar for sits outside the city. Mughsail beach and its blowholes are around 45 minutes west along the coast road. Wadi Darbat, at its fullest after the khareef rains, is roughly an hour east. Taqah and Mirbat, with their forts and fishing harbours, are further along the same route. Al Baleed Archaeological Park and the frankincense sites are in Salalah itself, but the drive between them still takes a vehicle.
During khareef season, roughly late June to early September, the hills turn green and Salalah fills with visitors from across the Gulf. Demand for cars rises sharply in those weeks, so reserving ahead is worth doing.
Can I pick up my rental car at Salalah Airport?
Yes. We provide a Meet & Greet service at Salalah Airport. Our representative meets you on arrival and hands the vehicle over there, so you do not need onward transport to a rental desk.
Do you deliver cars to hotels and resorts in Salalah?
Yes. We deliver to hotels, resorts and residential addresses across Salalah. Tell us the address and your preferred time when you book, and we will confirm the delivery with you.
Should I book earlier during khareef season?
We recommend it. Khareef runs from roughly late June to early September and is the busiest period of the year in Dhofar. Availability tightens and the widest choice of vehicles goes early, so booking ahead secures both the car you want and a better rate.
Can I drive a Salalah rental to Muscat or elsewhere in Oman?
Yes. Our vehicles may be driven throughout Oman. The Muscat–Salalah route is around 1,000 km on good highway, so plan for a full day and check your mileage allowance with us before you set off.
